Giving a warranty on secondhand HPLC equipment is a licence to lose money! There is always a risk that equipment will go wrong, and that risk increases with the age of the system. At some stage that risk has to pass on to the customer, but for the first three months after delivery we share the risk!

The warranty we offer is a 3 month return to base warranty. |
- The warranty starts on the date of delivery. If the equipment remains unused for 3 months, the warranty is gone, so it is a good idea to test the system as soon as it arrives to ensure that all is well.
- The warranty excludes normal service items, including piston seals, pistons, check valves, lamps and flow cells.
- In the event that we are unable to repair the instrument, or it is not economical to do so, we will, at our option, replace it with an equivalent or better model, or refund the purchase price and take back the instrument.
- It is the customer's responsibility to protect the instrument from damage caused by (but not limited to) electrical spikes or voltage fluctuations, water or solvent leakage, physical damage or dropping, excessive pressure above that specified by the manufacturer, excessive heat or cold, foreign body ingress (such as a spatula falling through the vents) or incorrect connections to the electrical ports at the back.
- If an instrument needs to be shipped back to Laserchrom, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that it is securely and safely packed. If using chips, protect the instrument with a polythene bag first. And use strong card or polystyrene blocks inside the box to protect the instrument before filling with chips. Ensure that the box is large enough to offer protection, and strong enough to withstand abuse during shipping.
- Laserchrom is not responsible for loss or damage during shipment to us, so if the instrument has a significant value, the package should be insured.
- If a customer attempts to modify or repair an instrument themselves, the warranty is null and void.
